Today, I’m sharing something deeply personal: my year-long health journey. It’s a story not just about physical health, but about mental resilience, self-discovery, and embracing change.
If you are a reader, I share everything here in my blog! But if like to listen to podcast, I also shared vulnerability on the Rainmaker Family Show! Listen here or on your favorite podcast app! 🙂
A year ago, I noticed something was off. Despite being active and eating what I thought was a healthy diet, my body wasn’t responding the way it used to. This wasn’t just about postpartum changes; it was deeper. I was tired, out of sync, and knew I needed to take action.
I turned to a functional medicine doctor, an approach that looks at the body as a whole. This was a game changer. We ran tests and found out I had high cortisol levels and signs of a leaky gut. It was a relief to finally have answers.
I became more conscious of what I put into my body. Avoiding processed foods and harmful additives was paramount. I learned to appreciate the beauty of simple, clean eating.
This journey taught me the importance of mental health. Taking time for self-care, practicing gratitude, and engaging in mindful meditation became essential parts of my routine.
My family joined me in this transformation. We started eating healthier meals together and enjoyed outdoor activities more often. It brought us closer and taught us the importance of health as a unit.
This journey has been about so much more than physical health. It’s been a year of growth, learning, and self-love. I encourage each of you, especially my fellow moms, to take your health seriously. You owe it to yourself and your loved ones.
Remember, health is wealth, and you are worth every effort. Here’s to embracing our health journeys and growing stronger together!
