The #1 Thing I Changed About Myself When Transitioning from One to Two Kids

Navigating the transition from one to two kids has been a journey of love, learning, and embracing a new way of life. It’s a chapter that has brought more structure, more intention, and more planning into our daily rhythm, and I’m excited to share a bit of my story with you.

Reflecting on this transition, I see a transformation in my approach to life and motherhood. I’ve found a newfound appreciation for structure—it’s become my anchor, allowing me to live more peacefully and be more present for my family.

And while the word “structured” might conjure images of a rigid rule book, trust me it’s the opposite. I get it, even the Chelsey a few years ago, may have written these ideas off or felt like she didn’t need to be that organized in life… But for me now, I’m all about crafting a framework for life that empowers me to show up more fully for my loved ones and our business.

Embracing life with two kids has magnified the importance of planning and establishing systems in every area of life. It’s been my shield against the relentless juggle of mom guilt and the ubiquitous “mom brain” that seems to slow so many down.

It’s about proactively managing my time and recognizing the transformative power of a well-orchestrated calendar.

And, oh, the grace I’ve learned to give to myself! That’s another aspect of motherhood that changed with having two.

Each day with two kids is a new adventure, requiring adaptability and a generous dose of self-forgiveness. It’s about welcoming ever season with open arms and learning to sway to the ever-changing rhythm of life.

This journey, this shift from one to two kids, has been a beautiful learning curve, a lesson in living intentionally, planning effectively, and structuring life in a way that brings peace and presence.

It’s allowed me to be more grounded, more attuned, and more impactful in my role as a mom.
